About Me
headshot by the inimitable Kristin Dokoza
Hello Iām Dayna, I use they/them pronouns and identify as a queer, gender nonbinary therapist working in the Bay Area with LGBTQIA+ transition-aged youth. Other identities that I hold are: Second generation, Chinese american, working on unceded Ohlone and Ramaytush land.
In the therapy space, I hold the shared mental health work with care and believe it is an honor to witness the client's journey.
I would encourage anyone starting therapy for the first time to keep an open mind, write things down that resonate and release anything that doesn't. If we are able to approach sessions as a process and let go of rigid outcomes, we can shed what holds us back and open ourselves to creative, generative growth.
During my down time, you can find me reading YA literature (anything by Kelly Loy Gilbert, Aiden Thomas, or Anna Marie McLemore), listening to audiobooks/podcasts, and adventuring with my partner and our kiddos and doggos.
