Common Therapy Questions
FAQs
What are the fees for a therapy session?
I set my fees commensurate with my specializations, additional work in community mental health and the local cost of living, I charge $195 per 45-50 minute individual session and $295 per 75 minute couple session.

Do you panel with any insurance?
I work with Lyra Health as a contracted clinician.
As for other insurance companies, I am considered Out of Network. I can provide a Superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.
What do I do if I am in crisis?
There are myriad crisis resources locally, please use the following:
-988: Dial 9-8-8 on your phone to reach the National Suicide and Crisis Hotline
-Trevor Project: Utilize the Trevor Hotline via chat, text or call if experiencing self-harm, negative self-thoughts or crisis ruminations.
How do sessions work?
Sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long and occur once a week unless otherwise agreed upon (ex. EMDR sessions, couples/family sessions).
Where will we meet?
I can see clients in-person in my office in Los Altos (El Camino and San Antonio) or online via Telehealth mediums such as doxy.me or Simple Practice.
What therapy techniques do you use?
I utilize an eclectic mix of evidence-based practices (EBPs) such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy among others. I also incorporate a strong practice of mindfulness, grounding/self-soothing skills and awareness of somatic processing.
What does that look like?
It could look like any number of things depending on what clients come in with from week to week and what carries over from Family of Origin patterns. Briefly, sessions tend to follow a loose flow of opening with whatever the presenting theme is for the client's week, some amount of follow up from the previous session, breath work or grounding work to enter into any challenging areas (past traumas, current stressors, problematic communication patterns, etc.), processing the content of the session, summarizing goals for the week and any mindfulness or grounding work needed to reenter client's day-to-day activities.
